Westermo launches new course on industrial cybersecurity

Last year, Westermo launched a comprehensive global training program to support those responsible for operating and maintaining industrial data communications networks. Our line-up of courses is now set to grow even further with a new course that will focus on industrial cybersecurity. Offering flexible online and in-person training, the Westermo Academy provides certified courses to network engineers wherever they are located around the world, ensuring they have the expertise needed to maximize the performance and reliability of industrial networks. 

Cybersecurity threats are becoming more common in everyday life, especially in industrial networks. The Introduction to Cybersecurity course will cover the topics of ensuring a device and a network is secure. Having the right knowledge and skills is key to the successful implementation, operation, and maintenance of industrial data communications networks. However, not all companies have the necessary expertise available in-house. Industrial networking is constantly evolving to create more complex, resilient, and secure networks, and with data networks often the backbone of mission-critical systems, it is essential for engineers to gain regular training updates.

“The updated Westermo Academy training program has been well received by more than 100 participants around the world” explained Ant Lane, Global Training Manager at Westermo. “Introduction to cybersecurity is a natural expansion of our course offerings and has been highly requested by our customers”

Westermo Academy includes a flexible online learning platform that allows courses to be selected and attended according to the learner’s needs, location, and timetable. Introduction to Cybersecurity is offered as a self-study course, initially in English, but in local languages in the near future.

With this addition, there are now five courses available in Westermo Academy. These include "Introduction to IP" and "Introduction to WeOS”, two courses providing a gateway to the certified engineer courses focused on switching and routing.
